Mrs. Barbara Ann Wells Dukes

Mrs. Barbara Ann Well Dukes, age 72, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016, at her home in Bainbridge, Georgia.  A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Dukes at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home.  Please do not feel the need to dress up for the service.  Barbara believed in dressing for comfort.

Barbara Dukes was born July 19, 1943 in Langdale, Alabama, to Ross Jackson Wells and Anne O’Hara Wells.  Mrs. Dukes was an L.P.N.  She worked many years at Memorial Manor, where she loved her patients and her job.  Barbara’s world revolved around her family.  She will be sorely missed by her family and her many friends.

Barbara Ann Wells Dukes is survived by her daughters, Amanda Godby (Gerald) of Brinson, Georgia and Patricia Thomason (Robert Moran) of Bainbridge; her step-son, Larry Dukes (Lena) of Hinesville; brother, Billy Wells of Bainbridge; grandchildren, B. J. McLendon (Robbie Hulett), Michael McLendon (Kelly), Sabrina Moran, Patrick Moran, Billy Alsobrook (Liz), David Gable, Ashleigh Gable, and Jessica Dukes; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jodee Henry and Judy Austin; her husband, LeRoy Dukes; step-daughters, Linda O’Connor and Martha Ann Gable.
