Alan E. “Gene” Williams, 58, of Bainbridge, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at his residence.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Stan Webb and Scott Tennant officiating. A masonic graveside service will be held at Oak City Cemetery with the members of the Orion Lodge #8 F. & A. M. serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children at 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.

Gene was born March 25, 1957 in Lake City, Florida, the son of Cecil Everette Williams and Juanita McCullers Williams. He married Margie Sharpe on February 14, 1985. He worked 26 years with Shaw Industries as a supervisor. Gene attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gene enjoyed watching Judge Judy and reading the newspaper in his spare time. He was a practical jokester and was often the source of laughter.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Sharpe Williams; his daughters, Misty M. Vance and her husband, David, of Hazelhurst, Ga., Gina C. Bryant and her husband, James, of Cottondale, Fla., and Amy M. Harrell and her husband, Nolan, of Bainbridge; his parents, Cecil and Juanita McCullers Williams of Bainbridge; his siblings, Dewayne Williams of Bainbridge, Gayland Williams and his wife, Patricia, of Cordele, Ga., Gloria Harrell and her husband, Larry of Bainbridge, Roxanne Gilstrap and her husband, Edwin of Bainbridge, Phillip Williams of Bainbridge,  and Melanie Krasula and her husband, Mike, also of Bainbridge; the light of his life, his nine grandchildren, Chrissy, Katie, David, Logan, Clinton, Shyanne, Hunter, Gage, and River and several nieces and nephews.
