As part of the Third Annual Carter Arts and Lecture Series, Bainbridge State College welcomed The Walking Dead’s Scott Wilson to campus by hosting a zombie party before the lecture on Friday, Oct. 23, at the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center.

The zombie party was hosted by BSC Student Life, BSC Student Government Association, BSC Cosmetology and the Carter Arts & Lecture Series committee.

Prior to the event, the community was invited to take part in a zombie party, which consisted of a haunted dining room with refreshments and full zombie “makeovers” provided by BSC Cosmetology students.

At 7 p.m., the conversation with Scott Wilson began and it was led by both Dr. David Nelson, BSC Associate Professor of History, and Scott Dunn, BSC Chief Information Officer and Carter Arts and Lecture Series Chairman.

The Walking Dead actor discussed his earlier films from the 1960s, which included In Cold Blood, In the Heat of the Night, The Great Gatsby, Dead Man Walking, and The Exorcist III. He also discussed his road to becoming an actor in California.

At the age of 19, Wilson hitchhiked to California to pursue an acting career. By the time he was 24, he was cast in the film In Cold Blood.

In 2012, he was cast as Hershel Greene in AMC’s The Walking Dead. He described his experience while on the set.
