Calvin Brownhill, 67, of Bainbridge, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Medley and Rev. Austin Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

Calvin was born on April 16, 1948 in Springfield, Mass., the son of Edward Brownhill and Belle M. Brownhill. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Bainbridge, Ga.. Calvin was retired from Wholesale Tire and Battery as bookkeeper, where he worked for 25 years. He also served 16 years as a fireman with the Decatur County Fire Department. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he led in Bible studies and taught Sunday School. He was ordained as a preacher and served many years in the Bowen Baptist Association providing pulpit supply to numerous churches in the area. Calvin loved Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was an avid fisherman and a talented nature and wildlife artist.

Survivors include his wife, Sonjia Brownhill of Bainbridge; two brothers, Lloyd Brownhill and his wife, Cherry, of Melbourne, Fla. and Roger Brownhill also of Melbourne; three stepchildren, Amanda Johnson of New York, NY, Amethyste Sanchez and her husband, Jacob, of Bainbridge, and Earl Johnson and his wife, Joy, of Leland, NC; 4 grandchildren, Calianna Holt and Nourah Holt of Bainbridge, and Tobias Johnson and Reilly Johnson of Leland, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Pat Brownhill.
