Nelson Brock

Nelson Brock, 93, passed away July 31, 2015. Nelson was born in Climax, Georgia on May 15, 1922. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Battery D 101st Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion. Nelson owned and operated Brock’s Tree Service before retiring in 1982. He enjoyed riding his bike, fishing and cooking out. He was of Baptist faith.
Mr. Brock was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethel Brock; daughter, Sharon Lynn Lynch; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Brock; son, Johnny (Deb) Brock; daughters, Anna Vandiver and Carol (Jerry) Addison; brother, Gene Brock; sister, Maude Phillips; grandchildren, Johnny Brock, III, Jenna Vandiver, Christie Anderson and Amanda Addison; great grandchildren, Brock and Bryce Anderson.
Visitation was Tues. Aug. 4th from 6-8 pm at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. Lakeland, Florida.

Funeral services will be Wed. Aug. 5th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Oak Hill Burial Park. Donations may be made in honor of Nelson to the Wounded Warrior Project.
