Barracudas dive into District 3 swim meet this weekend

Bainbridge Barracudas Swim Team coach Heather Battenberg spent last week preparing her team for the Saturday, July 11, Georgia Recreation and Parks Association District 3 Swim Meet in Tifton.

Top individual performers include Dax Willis in the 9-and-10-year-old boys 25-yard breast stroke and 25-yard butterfly and 100-yard individual medley, Jewel Anvar in the

9-and10-year-old girls 25-yard butterfly, Haley Helms in the 15-to-18-year-old girls 50-yard breaststroke and Kara Overman in the 6-year-old and under girls 25-yard backstroke.

Among the to relay teams preparing to perform in the District 3 Met are the 8-year-old and under girls 100-yard medley relay team of Kara Overman, Ava Bennett, Jewell Anvar and Allee Dickson and the 13-and14-year old boys 200-yard medley relay team of Josh Fillingame, Dax Willis, Thad Whitaker and Eion Turner.

Also set to do well at the District 3 Meet are 15-year-old and over girls 200-yard medley relay team of Masey Tabb, Rendi Harrison, Katie Campbell and Haley Helms and the 8-year-old and under girls 100-yard freestyle relay team of Mary Claire Killough, Ava Bennett, Jewel Anvar and Allee Dickson.

Other Barracuda relay teams priming for District 3 Meet competition are 10-year-old and under girls 100-yard medley relay team of Ramsey Mathews, Carissa White, Ali Bennett and Chrstie Whitaker and the 13-and-14-year-old girls 200-yard medley relay team of and the 13-and 14-year-old girls 20-yard freestyle relay team of Crystal Carvajal, Brooklyn Willis, Karli Wills and Carissa White.

Also getting ready for the district 3 Meet is the 10-year-old and under girls 100-yard freestyle relay team of Ramsey Mathews, Christie Whitaker, Ali Bennett and Abby Hyler.

The Barracudas decided not to attend the Saturday, June 27, Fitzgerald Invitational Meet and concentrated exclusively on getting ready for the District 3 Meet.
