Coach Amy Thomas’s Region 1-AAAA champion Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats tennis teams defeated the Veterans High School Warhawks and Lady Warhawks of Kathleen 3-0, 3-0 Tuesday in the first round of the State Class AAAA tournament at Darton College in Albany.

In boys action, Hema Hasona won 6-0, 6-0 at number one singles, his brother Nour Hasona won 6-0, 6-1 at number two singles and Jack Reynolds and Mark Loeffler won 6-1, 6-0 at number one doubles.

In girls action Taylor Greene won 6-0, 6-0 at number one singles, Mallie Rollins won 6-0, 6-1 at number two singles and Stephanie Mayfield and Ralyn Willis won 6-1, 6-0 at number one doubles.

In their second round state matches on Thursday, the Bearcats will host the Griffin High School Bears and the Lady Cats will taken on the Eagles Landing High School Lady Eagles in McDonough.
