Sara B. Ragan, 88, of Milton, Fla. and formerly of Bainbridge, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in Milton.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Medley, Rev. Darrell Chatraw, and Mr. Van Chatraw officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with her grandsons and nephews as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Lydia Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Ragan was born July 27, 1926 in Decatur County, Ga., the daughter of Jason J. Brinson and Mary Brock Brinson. She was a 1942 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, and a dedicated homemaker. Sara was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class. In addition to her church activities, she volunteered as a Grey Lady at Memorial Hospital and worked as the attendance coordinator at Bainbridge High School for many years.

Survivors include her children, Rev. Darrell Chatraw and his wife, Margaret, of Milton,Van Chatraw and his wife, Debra, of Madison, Ala., Debbie Jones and her husband, Dale, of Lizella, Ga., and Ronald P. Ragan of Cairo, Ga.; her siblings, Bobby Gene Brinson of Albany, Ga., Anita Brinson of Albany, and Claree Lodge of Camilla, Ga.; her eight grandchildren; and her 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer F. Chatraw; her husband of 47 years, Paul W. Ragan; and her siblings, Abron Brinson, Vertna McLendon, Mary Lizzie Maples, Eldridge Brinson and Gus Brinson.
