 Linza Milton Scott, 92, of Brinson, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Bainbridge Health Care.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Taylor officiating, and concluded at the chapel. Interment was at Brinson Cemetery.

Milton was born November 29, 1922 in Brinson, the son of Linza Daniel Scott and Ottis Josey Scott. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force, worked for several years at Southern Airways, and was a retired farmer. He was a Mason and Shriner.

Mr. Scott took great pride in his garden and was always willing to lend a hand when needed. He loved Spring Creek and telling stories of swimming, fishing, netting, and cooking on the creek bank. He will be remembered for the smile on his face and his positive outlook on life.

Survivors include his daughters, Alacia S. Lovering and her husband, Danny, of Gibson, Ga. and Lisa S. McLendon and her husband, Jerry, of Bainbridge; his brother, Gene Scott and his wife, Phyllis, of Bainbridge; his sister, Eloise Brock of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Jarad Smith of Chattanooga, Tenn., Lindsey Hayes and her husband, Brian, of Brinson, Hayes Bell of Bainbridge, and Alex McLendon of Bainbridge; 4 great-grandchildren; and his companion, June Lashley of Bainbridge.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Louise Kirksey Scott; and his brothers, Joseph J. “Jake” Scott and Danny Scott.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
