Bainbridge Public Safety responded to two fires started within 12 hours of each other on Jan.1 and Jan. 2.

Both fires were started at vacant residence homes. The first was on the 1000 block of Water Street at approximately 11:15 p.m. Jan. 1. The second came early Friday morning at the 1000 block of Broughton Street and was considered a total loss, according to BPS. The entirety of the vacant residence was burned to the ground.

BPS believes the fires to be related.
