Don Skidmore

Don Skidmore, 84, of Bainbridge, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at his residence.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the family home, 1305 Lakewood Dr., Bainbridge. Mr. Skidmore was born December 18, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Roy and Ruth Elder Skidmore. He retired from the United States Air Force after 26 years of service at the rank of Master Sgt. As a licensed social worker, Don spent several years working for the Division of Children and Family Services. He served on the Decatur Co. Tax Equalization Board and was a member of the Ahmed Shrine Temple. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Bainbridge Country Club and the Marquette Country Club in Michigan. He enjoyed collecting miniature cars and restoring vintage vehicles. Most recently he was involved in the restoration of a vintage Mercedes convertible, which he proudly drove around town.

Survivors include his wife of over 40 years, Linda Skidmore of Bainbridge; his children, Shauncie Skidmore, of Walla Walla, Washington, Mark Skidmore and his wife, Jane, of Golden, Colorado, Chad Skidmore and his wife, Kristin, of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Bart Skidmore, and his wife, Kristy, of Denver, Colorado; his grandchildren, Jason Ghiardi, Kurt Ghiardi and his wife, Yubi, Martina Ghiardi, Drew Skidmore and his wife, Casey, Sean Skidmore, Alex Skidmore and Lily Skidmore; and his great-grandchild, Giovanna Ghiardi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Skidmore.
