Marion C. “Mike” Hollaway, Jr., 82, of Bainbridge, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chad Cooper and Rev. Al Murkerson, Jr. officiating.  Masonic rites will be provided by Orion Lodge #8 F.&A.M.

Mr. Hollaway was born June 18, 1932 in Climax, the son of Marion Cecil Hollaway and Ouida Ward Hollaway. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1949, and St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas.  Mike was a retired Sergeant Major from the United States Army Special Forces. He served in Vietnam and was a founding member of the first Delta Force. An active Bainbridge citizen, he volunteered with CASA and the Department of Family and Children Services, the Georgia’s Sheriff Association, Salvation Army, and Goodwill. He was a member of  Bainbridge Shrine Club, Hasan Shrine Temple, Orion Lodge, #8 F.&A.M., and V.F.W. Post 4904.
Survivors include his sons, Werner M. Hollaway and his wife, Catherine, of San Mateo, Fla. and Samuel J. Hollaway of Timberlake, NC; his daughters, Patti Ann Hermann and her husband, Paul, of Hastings, Fla. and Dr. Deana Hollaway and her husband, David McDaniels, of Huntsville, Ala.; his sister, Mavis M. Williams of Bainbridge; his 13 grandchildren; and his 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Verbon Hollaway and his sister, Myra H.
