Nathan Burke, 81, of Brinson, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Grubbs officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Seminole Cemetery with his grandchildren and nephews serving as active pallbearers.

Mr. Burke was born November 25, 1933 in Donalsonville, the son of Odie Burke and Lottie Widner Burke. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. Nathan retired as an electrician with Southeastern Minerals. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, the American Legion, and the VFW Post#4904. Nathan loved working with antique cars, dancing and singing.

Survivors include his compassionate caregiver and mother of his children, Mary Burke of Donalsonville; his children, Nathan Eugene Burke and his fiance’, JoAnn Dukes, of Brinson, David Earl Burke and his wife, Alexandra, of Brisbane, Australia, and Dallas Keith Burke and his wife, Lori, of Brinson; his sister, Vera Burke Stewart of Cochran, Ga.; his grandchildren, Nathan Eugene Burke, Jr., Eric Eugene Burke, Jerrid Keith Burke, Christopher David Burke, Aaron Nicholas Burke, Kasey Burke Lomineck, and Kimberly Nicole Burke; his five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
