Hazel Smith, 88, of Bainbridge, died Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Miller County Hospital.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2798 Dothan Road, Bainbridge, with Minister Don Williams officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses c/o Mr. Wayne Bennett,139 Day Drive, Bainbridge, GA 39817.

Mrs. Smith was born December 4, 1925 in Fellows, California, the daughter of Fred and Retta Cornell. She lived in California for many years and retired as a bookkeeper with Kern County, Calif. Hazel moved to Bainbridge about fifteen years ago to be near her daughter. She loved her family, loved joking with her son-in-law, reading, cooking, sewing and crocheting.

Survivors include her children; Gordon Smith and his wife Ann of Bethel Island, Calif., Tina Bennett and her husband Wayne of Bainbridge, and Greg Smith and his wife Teresa of Morro Bay, Calif.; her grandchildren, Sam and his wife, Amber, Levi and his wife, Jackie, Joel, Kimberly, and Carri as well as five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Paige, Robin, Reedly, and Jaley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Fred Cornell, Roy Cornell, Lee Williams and Ellen Petty and one grandchild, Phillip Bennett.
