There will not be a Climax Grand Old Opry this year,” was the announcement made at the Climax Golden Agers October meeting.

The Golden Agers sponsored event has provided entertainment for many years on the Friday night before Swine Time. Some folks traveled a good distance to see the show and came to Climax for Swine Time the next day.

However, due to not having anyone able to manage the show, with Sam and Sandra Sirmons giving it up this year due to some personal reasons and the time the show consumed, the club voted to cancel the show until further notice. According to incoming club President Alma Hart, “Hopefully in the future, someone will be able and have the time to take on the duties of managing the show.”
