Pink bows are popping up around Bainbridge as the Breast Cancer Support Group of Decatur County prepares for its community awareness event Saturday.

The event will include a luncheon, fashion show, door prizes and silent auction.

“Our group is positive and sharing and helps those diagnosed share with others who understand what they’re going through,” said Linda Long, support group member and event facilitator. “It also helps with depression from being diagnosed with breast cancer because you can share that experience.”

The event will take place at noon on Saturday at the J.O. Smith Building at First United Methodist Church on Shotwell Street. Tickets are $15, and proceeds benefit the support group.
