Bearcats and Lady Cats claim first and second at season opener meet

Coach Yvette Greene’s Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats cross-country team captured first and second place finishes at Saturday’s season opening Pelham High School Hornets and Lady Hornets Invitational Meet.

Coach Greta Conner’s Bainbridge Middle School Bearcats and Lady Cats teams finished first and third.

The top five Bearcats high school finishers were Chase Harris, Brad Cox, Perry Waddell, Brenden Greene and Bennett Enfinger. Bearcats individual medal winners were Chase Harris with a first place time of 16:50, Brad Cox with a third place time of 18:06 and Perry Waddell with a fifth place time of 18:57.

The top five Lady Cats high school finishers were Uriyah Davis, Madison Wiggins, Camry Fillingame, Skye Walden and Aida Diaz. Davis was the Lady Cats individual medal winner with a third place time of 24:18.

The top five Bearcats middle school finishers were Caleb Harris, Gage Kempton, Conner Christopher, Collin Morrison and Joe Emmons. Caleb Harris won a medal with a first place finish in a time of 11:00.

The top five Lady Cats middle school runners were Sandy Baker, Piper Harrell, Kodi Lynn Harrison, Chloe Enfinger and Lani Jackson. Sandy Baker won a medal with a fifth place finish in a time of 15:19.

Bearcats and Lady Cats teams will be off this week for the Labor Day holiday. They will return to action Saturday, Sept. 6, when they travel to Tallahassee to compete in the Lincoln High School Cougars and Lady Cougars Cross Country Challenge.
