Derby Night to benefit Memorial Hospital Foundation

The third annual Memorial Hospital Foundation Derby Night, scheduled for Saturday night, May 3, at the Kirbo Center, promises to be bigger and better this year, thanks to all the sponsors and hard work of foundation members.
Pre-race festivities begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m., catered by Faye Martin of Elizabeth’s and Me.
Colby Dee, country music singer and songwriter, who was born in Canada, grew up in Georgia and is now from Nashville, Tennessee, will provide entertainment. and a live The live broadcast of the Kentucky Derby gives partygoers a chance to pick the horses.
Derby Night also features live and silent auctions, as well as a ladies hat contest.
Items for the live auction include a Dinner for 12, donated and hosted by Southwind Plantation; a mountain house vacation donated by Ken and Vicki Bailey; a four wheeler, compliments of Health Products; a standup paddle board donated by State Farm-Todd Martin; FSU football season tickets donated by Total Petroleum; a Big Green Egg compliments of Stone’s; a limo and dinner package, compliments of Marlene Free, Tristate Office Products, Oysters and Pearls and the Pond House; and a catered dinner for 20 donated by Elizabeth’s and Me.
There will also be a large selection of silent auction items for competitive bids.
Triple Crown Sponsors of the Derby are: First Post City Bank, Southwest Georgia Oil Company and Memorial Hospital Medical Staff. Approximately 40 other local businesses and individuals are helping sponsor Derby Night.
Raffle tickets are being sold for $10 each for a chance to win an Alwand Vahan Designer 14K yellow gold and Sterling silver bracelet, compliments of Godwin Jewelers. The raffle will be held at the Derby, and the winning ticket holder need not be present to win.
Tickets for Derby Night are $50 per person and may be purchased from Carole Clenney at Memorial Hospital and Manor (243-6105) or from any foundation or Derby committee member.
All proceeds from Derby Night will benefit the Foundation’s mission to provide six automated external defibrillators, an OB/GYN stretcher and other medical equipment to Memorial Hospital and manor, advancing healthcare in Southwest Georgia.
