Bainbridge tennis splits home matches

Coach Amy Thomas’s Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats tennis teams divided a pair of matches Thursday with Baconton Charter School.
The Bearcats won 4-1 and the Lady Cats were edged 3-2. The boys number one singles match featured the Bearcats Jones Gossett bowing to Samuel Cornwell 4-6, 1-6.
Number two singles Bearcat Jack Reynolds defeated Brandon Moye 6-0, 6-2 and at number three singles Bearcat Bennett Enfinger defeated Dylan Bosrick 7-6, 7-5.
In number one boys doubles the Bearcats team of Reid Willis and Josh Moorhead defeated Devyn Wimbrly and Jacob Horne 6-4, 4-6, 11-9. In number two boys doubles the Bearcats team of Logan Moorhead Bryce Howell defeated Zack Watkins and Brett Cardin 6-2, 6-4.
In girl’s play, Lady Cat Taylor Greene lost to Amelia Cornwell 0-6, 2-6 at number one singles and Lady Cat Lynsey Waddell lost to Alissa Mccook 4-6, 5-7 at number two singles.
The Lady Cats number three singles team of Ralyn Willis and Hannah Hays lost 1-6, 4-6.
The Lady Cats swept both doubles matches. At number one, Mallie Rollins and Stephanie Mayfield defeated Susan Bankston and Macy Bullington.
At number two, Anna Beth Bowles and Maci Barber defeated Cara Oliver and Taylor McKenzie 6-1, 6-1.
