Mildred Trammell Pollock, 89, of Camilla, Ga., passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at Delwood Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Hall and Rev. Doug Hall officiating.
Interment  followed at Delwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Douglas Brossett, Justin Anderson, Patrick Pollock, Mark Pollock, Treaver Lee Pollock, Sammy Smith, and Jonathan Kelfer serving as active pallbearers. The Deacons of Delwood Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Delwood Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Janet Brock, 242 Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Climax, GA 39834.
Mildred was born Feb. 1, 1924 in Camilla, the daughter of Redden David Trammell and Ruby Mae Poitevint Trammell.
During World War II, she was a welder at the shipyard in Savannah, Ga., and then was a seamstress.
She was a homemaker and a member of Delwood Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, was a member of the choir, served as director of the Bible School, and taught the G.A. Girls from youth to queen. She also led a bible study at the care homes in her 70’s. She was a faithful servant of the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd B. Pollock; her son, Michael L. Pollock; and her brothers, Alvin Trammell, Russell Trammell, and Cary Trammell.
Survivors include her son, Fred Pollock and his wife, Parnell, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; her siblings, Elese Flynt and her husband, Dick, of Hahira, Ga., Annette Taylor of Chattahoochee, Fla., and Nancy White and her husband, Morrie of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Patrick Pollock, Michele Brossett, Mark Pollock, Melissa Anderson, and Jessica Kelfer; and her great-grandchildren, Madison Pollock, Abigail Anderson, and Abram Anderson.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
