You may have noticed recent headlines all boasting the same name — Bainbridge State College.
The school has recently booked one event after another for its first ever Arts and Lecture Series.
The series has included a number of poets and authors with recognizable names and some big-name acts as well. Most notably these events include a speech by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and The Second City — a theater comedy group that is known for feeding talent to Saturday Night Live.
Actors such as Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carrell, Amy Poehler, Mike Myers and more came from the theater.
The local college is not letting its location in a small town stop it from recruiting and bringing in big events that are sure to enrich the community’s cultural experience.
We commend the school and its leadership for realizing the importance of organizing and arranging these events.
From President Jimmy Carter to The Second City, these events are a gift to the community we are thankful someone took the time to invest in.
