T.J. Lambert, 74, of Bainbridge, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at his residence. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 at New Fountainhead Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Harrell and Dr. Eldon Eckard officiating. A private interment will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Memorial donations may be made to New Fountainhead Baptist Church, 179 Old Pelham Road, Bainbridge, GA 39817 or a charity of choice.
Mr. Lambert was born Feb. 11, 1939 in Quincy, Fla., the son of Thompson Joseph Lambert, Jr. and Clyde Faust Lambert. He was a graduate of Havana High School, Class of 1958 and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Lambert was a farmer and worked in construction and restaurants. He attended New Fountainhead Baptist Church.
Mr. Lambert was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Powell Lambert; and his siblings, Wilhoit Lambert, Mayo Lambert, Bobby Lambert, and Marion Quinn.
Survivors include his partner and friend, Betty Runnels of Bainbridge; his children, Powell Lambert and his wife, Jane, of Bainbridge, Dave Lambert, of Iron City, Ga., and Amy Juve and her husband, Ole, of Jacksonville, Fla.; his partner’s children, John Runnels of Bainbridge, and Margaret Cook and her husband, Perry, of Attapulgus; his brothers William Lambert of Jacksonville, and Pat Lambert of Albany, Ga.; his sister, Beatrice Bullerdick of Richmond, Ind.; his grandchildren, Drew Lambert, Savannah Lambert, Gunnar Juve, and Asher Juve; his partner’s grandchildren, Chris Cox, Windy Hoose, Brian Cox, and Audrey Moore; and his partner’s 9 great-grandchildren. Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
