The Lady Cats scored nine and held the Lady Greenwave to six in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
Coach Cochran said he was pleased with his team’s performance against Terrell County.
“We played much better,” he said. “We had two players in double figures and we cut down on our turnovers. We also worked the ball around well for open shots. It was just a good team effort all around.”
Tameria Levens led  the Lady Cats with 11 points and Patra Parris scored 10. They were followed by Alexis Russ with seven points, Alexandria Carter with six points, both Beonka Madge and Asia Gordon with four points and Longessha Emanuel with two.
The Bainbridge High School Bearcats defeated the Mitchell County High School Eagles 83-50 Thursday in the opening round as well.
Devontae Jones led the Bearcats scoring effort with 23 points. Tyree Crump was also in double figures with 12 points.
Bearcats coach Rickey McCullough said he thought his team played well on both ends of the floor.
“We played much better and shot the ball very well,” he said. “Defensively we prevented them from doing some things they wanted to do. We were able to play a lot of people and that is always good.”
The Bearcats were in control all the way. They scored 13-8 in the first quarter, 23-15 by halftime and 35-28 in the third quarter.
The Holiday Hoopfest tournament continues this weekend.
