The Bearcat wrestling team’s season is in full swing with two tournaments already under their belts.
On Nov. 16, they placed fourth out of 10 teams in the Crisp Cougar Duals Tournament.
Wrestlers Tyler Storey, Tramaine McCray Agipito Estala went 4-1 against their opponents. Freshman Alex Wimberly went 3-2 in his first varsity tournament.
Last Tuesday, the Bearcats competed against Pelham twice, beating them 48-18 and 54-24.
Ryan Adams, Charlie Emanuel, Ashton Cato, Tyler Storey and Glenn Cooper all performed well against the Hornets.
“We are starting out slow due to having limited practices,” Head Coach Chad Smith said. “But we are doing well considering. We need to work on technique and finishing the way we start.”
The Bearcats’ match against Crisp at home on Dec. 5 has been cancelled. On Dec. 7, they travel to Cook County High School to compete in the Cook County Invitational.
