Bainbridge says ‘bring on the giving’

The community is about to be inundated with Christmas pleas from across the world.
As the clock strikes midnight on Halloween night, department stores and online businesses turn on their Christmas lights and the world is ready to bound past Thanksgiving and head right to Christmas morning.
For Bainbridge this means many things — holiday decorations will soon be up and our grocery stores will be stocked full with pie filling cans and pie crusts. Discounts are on the way for turkeys and their dressings.
Thankful for Bainbridge, this city has a spirit of excited giving.
Every year organizations send out their holiday requests. Some gather clothes for the homeless and coats, others collect presents for children. Some organizations feed the hungry during the holidays and others visit the sick and elderly in hospitals.
But one thing is for sure, Bainbridge is there for those that need it.
Last year, the Salvation Army worked a miracle by providing for more than 820 people in the community. Decatur County Cares reaches out their loving arms and helps whoever needs love the most.
The Secret Santa program gave presents to more than 200 children.
Bainbridge has multiple organizations that need all residents to pitch in and help.
Thank goodness for them, the people in this community are the ones for the job.
Headed into the holidays, Bainbridge knows the red kettles and their bells will be ringing for donations, but this small town has a big, big heart.
