Lady Cat runner recognized by National Elite

Bainbridge High School Lady Cat Paige Braswell ran an outstanding 5,000 meter time of 18:38 Saturday to earn National Elite status at the 32nd annual Westover High School Patriots and Lady Patriots Invitational Cross Country Meet in Albany.

She finished a strong second to Abby Booth of Perry High School who finished first in a time of 18:35.

Bearcats and Lady Cats coach Lisa Enfinger said she could not be prouder of Braswell’s Saturday performance.

“Paige has shown extreme dedication to becoming the best she can be,” coach Enfinger said. “It was a close battle between her and Abby Booth from Perry. Paige is now ranked number one in state AAAAA high schools and number seven overall among all female state runners.”

Lady Cats Jamia Powell and Honorina Barrios finished in times of 23:53 and 25:49.  The Bearcats finished 12th Saturday in a 33-team boys field.

Bearcats National Elite runner Chase Harris finished 20th Saturday in a time of 16:37.21, Ashton Cato ran an 18:35.35. Ben Cox was 189th in a time of 19:40.79 and Davin Butler was 211th in a time of 20:11.25

Other Bearcats times Saturday included Drevyon Banks with a 16:44.32, Brenden Greene with a 17:51.90, Bennett Enfinger with a time of 18:21.73, Wright Cook with a time of 19:43.99 and Grayson Graham with a time of 20:33.92.
