Bainbridge Decatur County YMCA

Of all my early memories of being a part of the YMCA, the one thing that stands out is that I always had fun at the YMCA. Whether playing games in the gym or participating in camp, I always had a good time. But, the most fun events were usually those that involved the entire family. This year, at the YMCA, we have a great Halloween event that promises to be a memorable one for Bainbridge families.
The Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA presents its 2nd annual “Halloween Zumba Party” on Saturday, October 19th, from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Adults and families are invited to attend this exciting demonstration of the latest fitness craze – “Zumba” – while in Halloween costume. The entry cost is $10.00 per person. YMCA Members and non-members are welcome. Children under 12, when accompanied by a parent, enter for free. Proceeds from the event will go to support the many programs of the YMCA and to help purchase needed equipment.
At last year’s event, the gym was full of ghouls, goblins and Disney characters who were dancing and exercising to the beat.
This year, we will teach everyone Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and dance the Addams Family theme and other Halloween-themed music. Prizes will be awarded the most creative, most original and scariest costumes in both adult and children’s categories.
So, “get your Zombie on,” or come as a Disney princess … or, “come as you aren’t” and participate in this high-energy event. Call the YMCA at 243-0508 for more information.
