Mrs. Betty J. Johnson, of Grovetown, Ga., wife of the late Mr. Talmadge Johnson, entered into rest June 20, 2013, at her residence. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. at West Acres Baptist Church, with the Rev. Denny Mack officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Love’s Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Johnson, a native of Plumberville, Ark., has lived in the area for the past 16 years, coming from Bainbridge. She was a member of West Acres Baptist Church, where she was in the Love’s One Sunday School Class, Red Hat Society and a volunteer at Joseph M. Still Burn Center Senior Friends.

She was retired from the Decatur County School System as an administrative assistant.

Survivors include two daughters, Joni Lawton (Brewton) of Grovetown, Becky Catrett (Billy) of Columbus, Ga.; and two grandsons, Kyle and Kurt Lawton.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to West Acres Baptist Church, 555 Gibbs Road, Evans, GA 30809, or Trinity Hospice.

McNeill Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 109 Shaw Street, in Martinez, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.
