Mack Barwick, 83, of Bainbridge, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Memorial Manor Nursing Home.

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Warren Fox officiating. There will be a private burial at Oak City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church, P. O. Box 7009, Bainbridge, GA 39818.

Mr. Barwick was born May 3, 1929, in New Brockton, Ala., the son of Archie Barwick and Myrtle Alice Nix Barwick. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. Mr. Barwick retired from Disney World, and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Edward Barwick; his brothers, Roy Barwick, Lucian Barwick and Archie Barwick Jr.; and his sister, Elizabeth Saunders.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lois Brooks Barwick of Bainbridge; his daughters, Beth B. Nagel of Omaha, Neb., and Peggy B. Mathis and her husband, Rick, of Memphis, Tenn.; his brother, Hugh Barwick of Tarvares, Fla.; his grandchildren, Ricky D. Mathis Jr., Melissa Mathis Sanford and Jessica Nagel.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the services.
