William Henry “Wild Man” Blanchard, 65, of Bainbridge, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Archbold Memorial Hospital.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Grubbs officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mr. Blanchard was born May 19, 1947, in Colquitt, Ga., the son of the late Tom Wright Blanchard and the late Edna Hazel Smith Blanchard. He was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School, Class of 1965. Mr. Blanchard was a truck driver for Elberta Crate & Box Company, for more than 35 years and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Blanchard was preceded in death by his brother, Tom “Buddy” Wright Blanchard; and his sister, Derl Jane Long.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Barbara Thompson Blanchard of Bainbridge; his sons, William Henry Blanchard Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Jackson, Ga., and Anthony J. Blanchard and his wife, Naomi, of Bainbridge; his daughter, Connie Webb and her husband, Kenneth, of Bainbridge; his brother, Richard Winston Blanchard and his wife, Judy, of Gainesville, Ga.; his sisters, Hazel Mobley and her husband, James, of Dearing, Ga. and Barbara Mobley of Whigham; his granddaughter, Melissa Webb of Bainbridge; and his beloved dog, Tinkerbell.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
