Edwina Roles Covington, 89, of Camilla, Ga., died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at her residence.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at Oakview Cemetery in Camilla, with the Rev. Danny Thomas officiating.

Born Nov. 2, 1922 in Mitchell County, Mrs. Covington was the daughter of Albert Royden and Edna Brimberry Roles. She was married to the late Rupert Durand “R. D.” Covington. She was a graduate of Valdosta State Women’s College and was retired from GFA Peanut Association as secretary/treasurer. Mrs. Covington was a member of First Baptist Church of Camilla, where she was a member of the choir.

Survivors include one son, Randy Covington and wife, Shelda, of Pelham, Ga.; one daughter, Melinda Pate and husband, Leon, of Valdosta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Travis Pate and wife, Alyssa, of Valdosta and Stuart Pate and wife, Lauren, of Tifton, Ga.; four great- grandchildren, Anna Pate, Mason Pate, Eli Pate, and Cooper Pate; and special caregivers, Ester Johnson, Wanda Spears, and Bernice Haynes.
