Graveside services for Henry D. Knight, 83, of Marietta, Ga., will be held Saturday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, Ga., with the Very Reverend June Johnson officiating.

Mr. Knight was born Feb. 17, 1929, in Thomasville, the son of Guy Lester Knight and Wortley Dare Hardison Knight. He died Wednesday, June 5, 2012, at Oak Brook Hospice in Marietta.

He graduated from Emory University and was a retired accountant with the City of Atlanta School system. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank Owen Knight and John Raymond Knight; and a sister, Eunice Edna Knight.

Survivors include his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Adams Knight of Sandy Springs, Ga., Annice Thompson Knight of Thomasville; nieces, Alice Elizabeth Knight, Jennifer Ann Knight-Boyd and Laura Lynn Knight, all of Atlanta, Ga.; a nephew, Don and Lois Hardison of Tucker, Ga.; and a cousin, Jenelle Whatley of Albany, Ga.

Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home of Thomasville is in charge of the arrangements.
