Lue Ellar Lang of Bainbridge announces the engagement of her daughter, Evette Lang of Washington, D.C., to James Brown, the son of James Brown and Janice Brown, also of Washington, D.C.

The bride-elect is also the daughter of Gregory Lang and Yvette Timmons of Newark, N.J., and the granddaughter of James Timmons of Philadelphia, Pa.

Miss Lang is a 2003 graduate of Bainbridge High School and a graduate from Middlebury College, in Paris, with a master’s degree in French. She is employed as a French teacher at Alice Deal Middle School in Washington.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of Carrie Hester Green and Isaiah Green of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and of James Brown of Orchard Hill, Ga. He is employed as the operations manager at Suite Solutions, LLC.

The wedding is planned for Aug. 4, at 6 p.m., at Tybee Island Beach, Ga., and the reception will follow at Tybee Island Lighthouse Station.
