Coach Eugene Singletary and his Bainbridge High School Lady Cats softball team will be hosting their first annual Summer Blast Tournament on Monday, July 16, through Friday, July 20.

“The cost will be $30 a game plus one game ball, and we will have both varsity and junior varsity games,” Singletary said. “The home team will be decided by a coin toss before each game.

“Free substitution will be allowed, there will be an hour and 45 minute time limit from the first pitch and each team will get the same number of turns at bat.”

Admission will be $5 per person per day and there will be a $5 cooler fee for fans who want to bring their own coolers. Team coolers will be allowed.

Mercy rules will be invoked when teams are ahead by 12 runs after three innings, 10 runs after four innings, or eight runs after five innings.

There will be no pre-game infield or outfield practice, but batting cages will be open for use before games. All players should wear tennis turf shoes. No metal spikes will be allowed.

“Games will be played at Bainbridge High School if we have only a few teams,” Singletary said. “If we have good response, we will play at the city of Bainbridge’s Bill Reynolds Sports Park where there will be additional fields to warm up on before the games.”
