Forty-six suspects in a Bainbridge Public Safety investigation into street-level sales of illegal drugs have been indicted by a grand jury on various charges, according to officials with the Office of District Attorney Joe Mulholland.

BPS officers, with help from several other area law enforcement agencies, conducted “Operation Clean Sweep” on Monday, April 30. By Tuesday afternoon, 32 suspects had either been arrested or turned themselves in. The investigation, conducted between November 2011 and April 2012, focused on areas where citizens have made the most complaints of nuisance drug sales, BPS Chief Investigator Frank Green said.

The suspects indicted are as follows: Gregory Jerome Akins, Lawrence Rashad Allen, Calvin Anderson, Cedrick Jarrod Brown, Earnest Bryant, Brock L. Byrd, Christopher Conley, Lance Cotton, Rick Flanders, Kelvin Jerome Ford, Chad Green, Tashunski Levon Green, Travis Sentele Hallmon, Bryan Lamar Harrell, Andrecas Leron Harris, Kenneth Hawkins, Desmond L. Henry, Emanuel Hodge Jr., Ezekial J. Hodge, Maurice R. Hubert, Willie Hudson, Jamal Christopher Jackson, Rashad Derrell James, Freddie Johnson, Markise Monta Jones, Marquail Jones, Teddy Jones, Freddie Lee Kendrick, Kiin Amman Dieric Kirkland, Tramias T. Kirkland, Stacey Terrelle Levens, David Hassan Love, Roderick Moten, Alex Myrick, Louis Lamoris Ousley, James Parrish, Sharie Nichole Paulk, Brian Rashawn Porter, Detroy Bernard Rambo, Brandon Lamar Sasser, Alfred Smith, Eddie Smith, Timothy Tarver, Dexter Fernandez Williford, Jamichael Q. Williams and Fred Wright a.k.a. Fred Anderson.

 

Other indictments

Also indicted by the grand jury were:

• William Phillip Mosley in the September 2011 shooting death of John Gray. Mosley faces charges of felony murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault and making false statements.

• Three men accused of robbing a Bainbridge College student on March 14. They are Gregory Lamar Hatcher Jr., David Kasheem Peterson and Laderance Vonkise Fuller. All three were indicted on charges of robbery by force and false imprisonment.

• Two former Decatur County Public Works employees accused of giving contraband to state inmates in March. They are Richard George Hill and Aundra Demetrius Reels. Reels faces the additional charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

• Two people accused of depositing a forged check in the amount of $78,900 at a local bank in December 2011 and then withdrawing sums from the account. They are Filip Nick Lozich and Juanita Wilder. Both face charges of executing fictitious checks and forgery in the first degree.

• Three men accused of being involved in an attempted robbery of a liquor store in July 2001, which led to the shooting death of 29-year-old employee Wendy Kay Bryan. Brandon Dewayne Smith was indicted on the charges of murder and criminal attempt to commit robbery. The grand jury chose not to indict Terryl Akins and Danterrius Faison on the charge of murder, but did indict them on the charge of criminal attempt to commit robbery. A fourth suspect, Willie Earl McGriff Jr., is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter stemming from an unrelated case.

• Gregory Wayne Devereuz, forgery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit forgery

• Jeremy Alton Williams, theft by taking

• Joshua Brian Buckhaulter, manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine

• Kenneth Jerome Dunaway, failure to register as a sex offender

• Heath Jimmy Smith, criminal attempt to commit burglary, possession of tools for the commission of a crime

• Sherry Lynn Eakin, habitual violator

 

No billed

The following cases were no billed by the grand jury, which means the grand jury chose not to indict the person for the listed offense:

• Kenneth Lee Timmer, terroristic threats and acts (Family Violence Act)

• Charles Tyler Phillips, terroristic threats

• Travis Demon Wheeler, terroristic threats

• Titus Dewitt Madge, aggravated child molestation

• Sydney Alisa Lopez, aggravated assault

• Danterrius Denard Faison, felony murder

• Terryl D. Akins, felony murder

 

Cases dismissed

The following cases were dismissed:

• Jeffery Lamar Wooden, simple battery (Family Violence Act)

• Benjamin Charles James, burglary, escape (However, Mr. James pled guilty to influencing a witness, making terroristic threats and simple battery)

• Charles Dwayne Beard, possession of drugs by an inmate

• Roy Dontavious Senior, entering auto (13 counts) (However, Mr. Senior pled guilty on one count of burglary)

• Jevarri Emanuel Barr, theft by receiving

• Dylan Cody Gilbert, criminal trespass (However, Mr. Gilbert was indicted on the charges of burglary, possession of cocaine and providing a false name to law enforcement)

 

Nolle prossed

The following cases were nolle prossed (charges are dropped at this time):

• Laura Beauman, two counts of financial transaction card fraud (However, Ms. Beauman pled guilty to two other counts of financial transaction card fraud)

• Jimmy Lee Mash, unlawful possession of pseudoephedrine
