Mr. James A. “Speed” McDonald, 72, of Sumner, Ga. died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at his residence as a result of an accident.
The graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at the McDonald Family Cemetery.
Mr. McDonald was born on Jan. 13, 1940, to the late Dan and Ethelma Paulk McDonald in Worth County, Ga., where he has lived all his life. Mr. McDonald was a self-employed electrician and a graduate of Sumner High School, Class of 1959, and later graduated from Moultrie Technical College. He was a member of the Young Farmers Association, enjoyed working with his dogs, and loved mullet fishing, dancing and conversation with his friends.
Survivors include his wife Karen Hawkins McDonald of Sumner; son, Greg McDonald (Merreann) of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Taylor, Grant and Brandi McDonald; brothers, Thomas McDonald (Ginger) of Sumner, Glen McDonald (Doris) of Sumner; sisters, Linda Adams of Hoschton, Ga., Melba Knight (Clark) of Tifton, Ga., and Karen Roberts (Lee) of Albany, Ga.
