SCHS senior earns scholarship

Southwest Georgia Farm Credit recently presented Seminole County High School senior Johnelle Simpson a $2,000 scholarship to pursue his college education, according to a press release from the company.
Simpson, who is currently dual enrolled in high school and at Bainbridge College, plans to pursue a degree in political science and business administration at the University of Georgia.
“Johnelle is a dedicated student who has set an example for others by striving for excellence in all that he sets out to do,” said Richard S. Monson, president and chief executive officer of Southwest Georgia Farm Credit. “We are honored to award him with this scholarship.”
In the second year of its scholarship program, Southwest Georgia Farm Credit has committed $8,000 to area students, awarding four seniors with $2,000 each. Criteria for the award included planning to pursue a career in some aspect of agriculture, a minimum GPA of 3.0, and letters of recommendation.
Other scholarship winners include Chase Parker Tenewitz of Brookwood School in Thomasville, Ga.; Daniel Lamar Allen Jr., of Miller County High School; and Chelsea Fitzhugh of Albany High School.
