Amber Hawkins of Donalsonville, Ga., her parents and agent, Efe Ogbeni, met with Humberto Gatica, Los Angeles music producer on Jan. 27. through Jan. 31, for recordings at Zac Digital Studios in Atlanta.

Gatica is an eight-time Grammy Award and five-time Latin Grammy Award winner and has engineered multi-platinum albums and singles, including Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On,” Michael Jackson’s, “Thriller,” and Lionel Ritchie’s “Can’t Slow Down.” He was co-producer in 2010 with Quincy Jones’ “We Are The World” and has worked with Elton John, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Cher and many more well-known artists over a four-decade career.

Gatica flew from L.A. to Atlanta for the first time to meet with Hawkins and her family. Hawkins, through her agent, and Gatica and Nashville songwriters, have chosen her genres of music for more upcoming recordings.

Hawkins is the daughter of Mitch and Candy Hawkins of Donalsonville. Her grandparents are Ray and Linda Josey of Iron City, Ga., and Robert and Georgianna Hawkins of Donalsonville.
