“It’s an opportunity to have a good meal, good fellowship time, give away some door prizes and share the gospel,” Steve Brooks, youth minister said.

Brooks said the event is helpful in gaining attendants who may not have accepted Jesus Christ before and changing their lives. Last year 27 men received Christ during the event, according to Brooks.

This year’s special guest speaker is Brian Hollaway, founder of non-typical ministries and a pastor at Timberlake Church in Johnson City, Tn.

“Telling the wonderful story of Christ and sharing my knowledge of archery and hunting are my calling in life,” Hollaway said on his website about himself.

The Men’s Ministry group from the church sponsors the event. Individual tickets are $20 and corporate tables are available for $300.

The money collected from individuals and corporate sponsors goes back into directly funding the program through the purchase of food, supplies and if any is left, extra hunting equipment for door prizes, according to Brooks. Money and prizes are also donated to the event from corporate sponsors, who can also set up a booth to give out promotional material to attendees before the event starts.

Door prizes include hunting equipment and at least 7-8 guns serve as the biggest prizes. Students in the youth group also serve a role during the event by serving the attendees during the meal. The students also receive tips, which goes directly towards another mission group. This year the tip money will go towards a group in an African country that will help build wells and provide clean water to its citizens. A separate gun is specifically raffled to fund mission trips for the youth group in the summer.

The Fellowship Baptist Church is located at 2861 Spring Creek Road Brinson, Ga 39825.
