Funeral services for Odene W. Hand, 82, of Tifton, Ga., were held Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at Bowen-Donalson Funeral Home in Tifton with Rev. Steve Poppell officiating. Burial followed in Tift Memorial Gardens with Aaron Goodman, Scott Tyson, Gabe Mathis, Adam Goodman, Jacob Hand, Derrick Croley and Troy Toler acting as pallbearers.

Mrs. Hand was born on June 9, 1929, in Alabama, the daughter of Artful Walker and Annie Mae Twilley Walker. She died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital.

She was a retired teacher’s aide at Northside Elementary and a homemaker. She was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Hand; three brothers; one sister; and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include one son David and wife Debi Hand of Charleston, S.C.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Donna H. and J.R. Lambert of Bainbridge and Ginger Hand of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one brother, Dwight Walker of White Springs, Fla.; one sister, Alma Walker Willis of Charleston, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Aaron Goodman, Brook Croley, Scott Tyson, Shiloh Toler, Gabe Mathis, Jacob Hand and C.J. Hand; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Bowen-Donalson Funeral Home of Tifton was in charge of the arrangements.
