The graveside memorial service for Philip “Phil” Johnson, 46, of the Sylvania Community near Bainbridge, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at Sylvania Cemetery, with the Rev. Donna Sue Roberts officiating, and military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mr. Johnson was born June 26, 1965 in Hillsdale, Mich. He died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at his residence. He was a graduate of Calhoun County High School, Class of 1984, and served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Johnson was a truck driver for many years and was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Emma Jean Johnson of Bainbridge; his daughter, Whitney Johnson of Bainbridge; his parents, Arthur E. Johnson and Naomi Faye Pepple Johnson of Arlington, Ga.; his brother, Bruce Allen Johnson and his wife, Amy, of Arlington; his nephew, Dylan Johnson; and his niece, Delana Johnson.
