The funeral service for Diane Jones, 54, of Bainbridge, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Evangel Temple Assembly of God with Rev. Ken Davidson and Rev. Lloyd Markham officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Edward Connell, Jason King, Johnny Welch, Jr., Randy Gilbert, David Smith, Aaron Smith, Matt King, and John Sizemore Jr. serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening or Friday at the family home, 605 Avenue A, in Bainbridge.

Mrs. Jones was born Nov. 22, 1957, in Bainbridge, the daughter of J.C. King and Erodis Buckhalter King. She died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at her residence. She worked for many years as a supervisor in a local convenience store.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Welch; her brother, Claude “Buddy” Cowart; and her grandson, John Caleb Turner.

Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Lee Jones of Bainbridge; her sons, Lee Jones Jr. and Rocky Smith, of Bainbridge, William D. Jones and his wife, Georgia, of Donalsonville, Ga., and Jamey L. Jones and his wife, Christina, of Brinson; her daughters, Shelia Ellis and husband, Jeff, Lea Ann Jones and Dana Turner and her husband, Jeff, all of Bainbridge; a very special family member, Aaron Foxworth Smith of Bainbridge; her brothers, Willie Sampson and his wife, Elizabeth, of Perry, Fla., and Jessie King of Nashville, Ga.; her sisters, Joyce Thompson of Nashville, Kattie Connell of Bainbridge, Virginia Morris and her husband, Larry, of Bainbridge, Sara Welch and her husband, Johnny, of Nashville, and Deloris Ritter and her husband, Vernon of Bainbridge; her 13 grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews.
