Bearcats wrestlers now 2-1 for the year

The Bainbridge High School Bearcats wrestling team moved their record to 2-1 with a loss and a win Thursday in Cordele.

The Bearcats dropped a nine-point decision to the Crisp County High School Cougars and dominated the Turner County High School Rebels by 27 points.

The Bearcats’ winners against Crisp County were Grayson Heard, Kole Gilbourn, Cole Bulger, Kawaii Fountain and Josh Sheard.

Posting victories against Turner County were Grayson Heard, Kole Gilbourn, Cole Bulger, Marc Fleetwood, Kawaii Fountain, Jacob Trawick, Joshua Sheard, Charlie Emanuel and Brandon Crawford.

“Our leaders are really stepping up and showing what determination and hard work does for a wrestler,”  Coach Chad Smith said. “One of our newcomers, Josh Sheard, is wrestling like a veteran and is very impressive on the mat. We have a great all-around group of wrestlers.”
