Seventh-grade Bearcats even record

The Bainbridge Middle School seventh-grade Bearcats basketball team evened their season record at 1-1 Wednesday, with a 29-20 road victory over the Thomas County Central Middle School seventh-grade Yellow Jackets.

The Lady Cats lost 53-2 to the Central seventh-grade Lady Yellow Jackets. Tyra Adams scored the Lady Cats points.

The Bearcats were led by Tyler Jackson with 15 points. Dalvin Spivie followed with five and Keyshawn Madge put in four.

Rounding out the Bearcats’ scoring column were Eddie Cooper with three and Ladon Crankfield and Montavious Flowers with two apiece.

After the game, coach Patrick Clark praised his team’s effort.

“I thought our effort was very good,” he said. “We played excellent team defense and made shots when they counted.”

The Bearcats will return to action Wednesday, Nov. 9, when they host Cairo’s Washington Middle School seventh-grade Tiegrs at 4:30 p.m. at the Decatur County Memorial Coliseum.
