Griffin Long recently exhibited the Grand Champion Barrow at the Georgia National Fair Swine Show in Perry, Ga., on Oct. 13-15. Griffin won weight class with his barrow and was named Division III Champion.  He was then named Grand Champion Barrow.

Griffin, a sixth-grade 4-H’er at Hutto Middle School, is the son of Phil and Diane Long.

The Georgia National Fair Swine Show consists of registered breeding gilt classes, commercial breeding gilt classes and market hog classes.  Furthermore, students participate in showmanship in their respected grade. Many 4-H and FFA exhibitors from first grade through 12th grade from across the state of Georgia participate in the event.  Will Winters of Texas judged the market hog show.
