BMS wins cross-country title

Coach Jenny Oldaker’s Bainbridge Middle School Bearcats cross country team, led by Bennett Enfinger’s winning 2-mile time of 12 minutes, 28 seconds, are champions of the Southwest Georgia Middle School League.
They won the title Saturday at Spring Hill Christmas Tree Farm.
In the middle school girls division, the Bainbridge Lady Cats were third behind Colquitt County Middle School and Thomasville’s MacIntyre Park Middle School. Second and third places in the boys division were also captured by Colquitt County and MacIntyre Park.
Finishing second through fifth individually behind Enfinger were Jonathan Cruz of Colquitt County with a time of 12:54, Xavier Alexander of Seminole County with a time of 12:55, Brenden Greene of Bainbridge with a time of 13:07 and Price Autrey of MacIntyre Park with a time of 13:12.
Matthew Greene of Bainbridge finished seventh with a time of 13:25, and Gracen Graham was 10th with a time of 14:02.
The top girls finisher was Jacara Hayes of MacIntyre Park with a time of 14:02.
Second and third places went to Elaina Edmundson of Brooks County Middle School with a time of 14:06 and Rebecca Smith of MacIntyre Park with a time of 14:50. Fourth and fifth places went to Lauren Coop of Colquitt County with a time of 15:04, and Jessica Miranda of Bainbridge with a time of 15:15.
Jamia Powell of Bainbridge finished eighth.
