The second annual Epic 5K Challenge will be Saturday at Spring Hill Christmas Tree Farm.
The five-person team event will benefit the Dylan Reid Faircloth the First Memorial Cross Country Scholarship.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the run will get under way at 8 a.m.
Dylan, the son of June Faircloth and a member of the Bainbridge High School Bearcats cross country team, lost his life in an automobile accident and was an organ donor.
Stan Gann, former Georgia Tech quarterback and Northside Warner Robins High School Eagles head football coach, who received Dylan’s heart, will be here for the event which he also attended last year, along with his wife Sissi.
Gann, who lives in Warner Robins, will also attend Friday’s 7:30 p.m. homecoming football game between the Bearcats and Warner Robins High School Demons at Centennial Field.
Former Atlanta Braves pitcher Tom Glavine, who partners with the Georgia Transplant Foundation to raise awareness and funds for organ donation, has sent an autographed baseball which June Faircloth will auction to aid the scholarship fund.
