The City of Bainbridge has two great events scheduled for its citizens in October.

The much loved “Movies on the Flint” will be returning to Earle May Boat Basin Park on Saturday, Oct. 29. The movie How to Train Your Dragon will be shown on a giant 30-foot screen. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with hayrides and games for kids. The movie will begin at dark, or approximately 7:45 p.m.

There will be food vendors on site, so get your blankets and lawn chairs and come hungry. Movies on the Flint is sponsored by the city of Bainbridge and A & S Rentals.

On Monday, Oct. 31, the City of Bainbridge Main Street and Leisure Services Departments will host “Pumpkins in the Park,” in Willis Park.

Registration for the costume contest begins at 4:30 p.m. and the contest will begin at 5 p.m. There are four different age groups for the costume contest: 3 years and under, 4-7 years old, 8-11 years old and 12-and-up. The winners of each age group (first through third place) will receive “Bainbridge Bucks,” to use at local businesses.

There will also be a new addition to Pumpkins in the Park this year. School classrooms are participating in the Create-A-Pumpkin contest and have been asked to create 3-D pumpkins to be judged at the event. Pumpkins will be judged in three different categories: Most Creative, Scariest and Silliest. The winning classrooms will win an ice cream party.

In addition to the contests, there will be all types of fun going on in Willis Park and around the square including trick-or-treating, games and hayrides. Following Pumpkins in the Park, the City of Bainbridge encourages everyone to trick-or-treat in their neighborhoods.
