The funeral service for Arthur L. Livingston, Jr., 90, of Bainbridge, will be held Sunday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gerald A. Little officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Tyndall Air Force Base Honor Guard. A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 10 at 9:30 a.m. Central Daylight Time at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, with the American Legion officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at Ivey Funeral Home, prior to the funeral.

Mr. Livingston was born Feb. 26, 1921 in Sturgis, Miss., the son of Arthur L. Livingston and Mary Ina Cooper Livingston. He died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at Bainbridge Healthcare. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Mississippi State University. He was a captain in the United States Army Air Force in World War II and retired with many years of service. During World War II, he was a P40 fighter pilot with the Flying Tigers in China. Mr. Livingston was the owner of the Dixie Hotel and was the city clerk in Piedmont, Ala. He was active in the community as and a member of the American Legion, the Elk’s Club, a Mason for over 60 years, and was of the Presbyterian faith.

Mr. Livingston was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Geraldine Johnson Livingston; and his sister, Annie Lee Williamson.

Survivors include his sons, Dr. James M. Livingston, of Columbus, Ohio, Robert L. Livingston of Bainbridge, and David C. Livingston of Alexandria, Va.; his seven grandchildren; and his five great-grandchildren.
