Coach Jennifer Oldaker’s Bainbridge Middle School Bearcats cross country team, led by Bennett Enfinger’s first-place 1.41-mile time of 9 minutes, 13 seconds, won the middle school championship at Saturday’s annual Bearcat and Lady Invitational Meet.

The meet, hosted by coach Oldaker’s Bainbridge Middle School and Bainbridge High School boys and girls cross-country teams, was held at Spring Hill Christmas Tree Farm.

The top middle school girls runner was Jessica Miranda, who finished in a time of 10:36.

The top BHS boys runner was Davey Reynolds, who completed the 5,000-meter (3.1-mile) course in a time of 19:40. Brad Cox was close behind with a time of 20:56.

Leading the way for the BHS Lady Cats was Paige Braswell, with a time of 23:42. Amber Braswell was close behind, with a time of 25:06.

Oldaker was very proud of the performances of her four teams Saturday.

“Our home meet Saturday was a huge success,” she said. “Our middle school boys finished first in a seven-team field and Bennett Enfinger was the overall winner.

“Our middle school girls finished fourth behind Tift County, Thomasville and Lee County in a seven-team field.”

The BHS boys finished seventh in a 13-team field, behind Tift County,  Westover, Thomasville, Cairo, Northview and Lee County. The BHS girls finished fifth in a 10-team field, behind Tift County, Thomasville, Westover and Lee County.
